County Monaghan's Ardal O'Hanlon will be among 100 entertainers to meet the Pope.
The Carrickmacross comedian, who played the 'simple-minded' priest Dougal in Father Ted, has been invited to the Vatican for an audience with Pope Francis on Friday.
Tommy Tiernan, who guest starred in the Channel 4 comedy, is also taking part in the event described as a 'celebration of human diversity'.
