Approval has been given for a new car park in Virginia.
The 77 space car park will be built at "the backlands" behind buildings along Main Street.
It's planned this car park will be built on a four hectare site between Main Street and Lough Ramor.
The development will see 77 parking spaces, including four disabled spaces, and a number of electric vehicles charging points provided.
Councillors in the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District this week gave approval to the long awaited project, which it's hoped will relieve pressure on parking on the town's streets.
Director of Services Eoin Doyle said it was an important project for Virginia and an important development.
Councillors paid tribute to former Councillor Paddy O'Reilly for his work campaigning for the car park - something he had done for decades.
