The plans lodged by the board call for the demolition of the existing concrete terraces to both sides of the existing covered stand building.

Planning has been officially lodged for major upgrades at Kingspan Breffni Park.

The Cavan County Board revealed plans for the revitalisation of the County stadium last week.

The plans lodged by the board call for the demolition of the existing concrete terraces to both sides of the existing covered stand building. These terraces would be replaced with a brand new three storey covered stand which would consist of new spectator seating, new entrances and turnstiles, as well as player and officials changing areas. Also included are toilets, first aid rooms, media and administrative offices, handball court, a new museum, hospitality and bar area, a sensory room, and meeting rooms. Outside of this a new entrance plaza adjacent to the car park area, solar carports, signage, and lighting make up the final part of the application. The proposed plans have been described as a game changer for Cavan football by members of the board.
