Planning permission is being sought for an accessibility ramp in the Inniskeen Church in County Monaghan.
The former Church of Ireland building is a protected structure which is currently leased to the Inniskeen Enterprise Group.
The Church of Ireland said its "pleased to confirm that we consent to the planning application".
The works would see alterations made to an existing window opening to provide a door, alongside accessible ramp and railings.
The existing glazing will also be replaced with timber windows, as the application states that the current windows have "inappropriate safety glazing".
The application also states that the work will be carried out "using the best practice conversation guidelines" so that the former Church can be
"enjoyed by future generations".
