An application for CCTV cameras in Castleblayney is to be submitted to the Garda Commissioner in the coming days.
An application has been developed and Monaghan County Council is in consultation with An Garda Síochana to ensure a high-quality submission is made to Drew Harris.
Last December, the local Joint Policing Committee gave the green-light for the project, with public consultation held in January.
