Team Hope launched its Christmas Shoe Box appeal earlier this week and is appealing to the people of Cavan and Monaghan to support this very worthy cause. The charity aims to deliver as many gift-filled shoeboxes as possible to children, for whom poverty is their every-day reality, in 13 countries across the world.
Manager, Jonathan Douglas who spoke to Northern Sound, says people from this region have been "more than generous" in the past. He says everyone is delighted to see the initiative back up and running again this year.
Mr Douglas added that the deadline for receipt of shoeboxes is Tuesday the 8th of November. "Irish people have always been so generous when it comes to supporting the Charity's work.
"Since Team Hope began in 2010, over two million shoeboxes have been made by the people of Ireland, and that just speaks volumes. We would encourage everyone to continue making those shoeboxes and change the lives of children who are less fortunate than ourselves."
