Gardaí in Co Cavan are appealing for information in relation to a spate of burglaries. Gardaí in Virginia are seeking the public’s help in solving two burglaries that occurred in the Lake view estate of the Dublin road in Virginia on the 18th of April 2024. In the first case, the homeowner returned home at approximately 4pm to find a side window damaged, on closer inspection it was noted that items were moved within the property but nothing was taken in the neighboring property. When Gardaí were conducting inquiries into the first reported burglary, they discovered this property had also been broken into via a side window and the property was ransacked. Moving now to Cavan, on the 16th of April, a property on the Dublin road in Ballinagh was broken into. The homeowner returned home at approximately 4.30pm and found the front door forced open and the property was ransacked. The culprits made off with three safes containing jewelry and cash. Anyone who noticed anything suspicious on that day is asked to come forward and assist investigating officers with their inquiries.
