Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to a number of burglaries which have taken place in across the Bailieborough area. Garda Lisa Stevens is appealing for anyone with information to come forward and contact their local Garda Station in relation to these recent crimes. During the hours of the 23rd of August a total of three burglaries were committed. The first was between the hours of 2.30am and 2:45am at the coffee hut at the Lakeside Manor, Dublin Road, Virginia. The front window of the hut was smashed and entry was gained. Culprits made off with a cash box however it was empty. Gardaí are anxious to hear from anyone who noticed a white BMW estate vehicle in that area.
The second burglary took place in Tunnyduff, Bailieborough. Following an alarm activation that Gardaí responded to it was found that Tunnyduff National School had been broken into between 5am and 5:15am. A classroom window was broken to gain entry and the office was ransacked. Again the intruders went away empty handed but caused damage all the same, according to Gardaí. Similar to the incident reported at the Lakeside Manor, a white estate vehicle was observed in that area. Elsewhere, the final burglary to take place on the 23rd of August occurred at White Gate fuels, Edenburt on the N3. Three males were observed trying to gain entry to the shop, they were unsuccessful of gaining anything of monitory value.
Garda Lisa Stevens has this message for anyone with information; "Although the culprits were unsuccessful of gaining anything of monitory value, they did cause costly damage o each of the three properties they were broken into. Gardaí want to apprehend these people.
