An appeal has been launched against plans for a new medical centre in Cavan town.
Last month, Cavan County Council granted permission for the €20 million, three storey facility.
In September last year, Lisdaran Partnership sought to construct the fully serviced centre.
It was proposed as a primary care centre, with a pharmacy, therapy and treatment rooms and other spaces included on-site.
The application said it would employ around 80 medical and administrative staff.
After a lengthy planning process, including requests for further information that delayed proceedings for six month, the local authority granted permission with 32 conditions attached.
This decision was then brought by a third-party to An Bord Pleanala for appeal.
The appeal was lodged by Jim Elliot who had also sent submissions on the original application.
Among the points made against the local authority application was the proposed size of the building when the HSE already has office space in Cavan town, and how the area would deal with the increased infrastructure.
An Bord Pleanala is due to make a decision in November.
