Gardaí in Co Cavan are appealing for information following a spate of recent burglaries across the Cavan area.
According to local Gardaí a number of reports emerged predominantly from the Virginia area. Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to a property which was un-occupied for a number of weeks in Edenbert, Virginia.
The property in question was burgled at an unknown date between the 11th of February and the 1st of March when culprits ransacked the property and ran off with an electric guitar. Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information in relation to the crime to come forward. Staying in the Virginia area, Gardaí are investigating two burglaries which occurred in The Drumlins on the 17th of February between 7pm and 9.30pm. In the first property a rear window was prised open to gain entry and a sum of cash was stolen.
In the second property a front window was prised open and the property was ransacked. Gardaí are keen to hear from anyone who can recall the 17th of February and who noticed any suspicious vehicles or persons in that area to contact them. Also in Virginia on the 28th of February, a property in Deer Park was broken into.
The culprits were unsuccessful in gaining anything of value which may indicate that they were disturbed. Gardaí are looking for people who can assist with investigations to contact the Detective Unit at Bailieborough Garda Station.
