Gardaí in Co Cavan are seeking the public's help in solving a number of crimes committed in Cavan over the past month. In particular, Gardaí are investigating a number of burglaries which have been reported over recent times. Gardaí in Virginia are investigating a burglary which took place on the 7th of March at Lakeview Close, Virginia between the hours of 9.30am and 12 midday. According to Gardaí, a side gate was damaged and a rear patio door smashed to gain access to the house.
A significant sum of cash and quantity of jewellery was taken. Gardaí would like to hear from anyone in the Lakeview Close area who witnessed any suspicious vehicles or persons on this date. Elsewhere, in Portaliffe, Kileshandra on the 8th of March between the hours of 11:15am and 1:50pm homeowners left their home and returned to find their back bedroom window smashed and items moved. According to Gardaí, it's possible the culprit was disturbed. Gardaí are asking anyone with information in relation to this crime to give Cavan Garda Station a call.
Moving to the area of Milltown, Belturbet and on the 17th of March between the hours of 3.30pm and 7pm a property was broken into. A black steel safe containing a sum of money was stolen. Gardaí in Belturbet are asking anyone who can assist with investigations to get in touch. Finally, in the Bailieborough area, Gardaí are investigating a burglary which occurred between the 4th of March and the 18th of March at a vacant property in Virginia. A rear window was broken and a TV was taken the house was also ransacked. In relation to this crime and all of the crimes reported, Garda Lisa Stevens of Bailieborough Garda Station is asking anyone with information to come forward.
