A man is in critical condition in hospital following a serious assault in Co. Monaghan.
It happened in the Park Road area of Monaghan Town last night, between 10pm and 11pm. A man remains in hospital following a late night attack on the outskirts of Monaghan Town.
A man in his 40s was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, but was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. That man is fighting for his life this evening with Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. Monaghan Gardai are asking anyone with information, to come forward.
