The level of graffiti in the town of Cavan over the last 3 months has increased with a purposeful and intentional manner.
That's according to Paul Lynch from the local tidy towns committee who say the individual or the individuals behind this is causing thousands of euros worth of damage.
He says this activity is not art, its pure crime and is absolutely unacceptable and disappointing.
Paul said it was an insult to the good people that are out volunteering their time and effort to keep Cavan clean and welcoming. These incidents that are in high numbers have been reported to the Gardaí and the Cavan Tidy Towns committee are asking anyone who sees this happening to report it to the local Gardai. Paul Lynch says it's a slap in the face to all the hard workers from Cavan County Council, Cavan Tidy Towns, and local volunteers.
