Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses to an incident in Carrickmacross on Monday evening in which a woman was injured. Medical personnel notified gardaí on Monday evening, November 11th, of a woman in her twenties who had sustained injuries during a public order incident.
It's understood the incident happened earlier that day in the Convent Avenue area of the town and gardaí cordoned off the area for a period of time. The woman received hospital treatment and was subsequently discharged.
Reports online had be circulating purporting that non-nationals were involved. Northern Sound FM understands that this is not the case. Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing and witnesses are being asked to contact Carrickmacross Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line .
