The appeal for witnesses centres around the Ballinamore Road in Ballyconnell from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on Saturday night last.

The first of the burglaries occurred between 6pm and 6.50pm at residential properties in Rocklands and The Gallops areas of Cavan followed by one in Virginia.

Annie Heyneman and another man in his 60s were attacked at a house outside Kilnavart on Saturday night. 

Kelly's distraught mother said the programme brought forward fresh information from the public but, most are unwilling to put their accounts on record.

The N3 will remain closed until at least lunchtime today, local Gardaí say. A technical examination still has to be carried out at the scene of the collision.

Kelly's mother asked everyone from the Northern Sound region to watch tonight's programme on BBC 1 Northern Ireland from 10:40pm.

Reports online had be circulating purporting that non-nationals were involved. Northern Sound FM understands that this is not the case.

A lock from a container was broken and a quantity of copper wire was taken in the incident.
