An appeal against the construction of wind turbines in Newbliss has been withdrawn.
Drumlin Park Ltd is now free to progress with the development.
Permission was first granted by Monaghan County Council in July of this year.
It was for the ten year permission to build eight wind turbines, each with a maximum tip height of up to 180 meters.
The turbines will be located off the R189 Newbliss-Cootehill Road, and cover the townlands of Corlougharoe, Correvan, Drumlina, Tullyard, Drumacreeve, Drumanan, Cornawall, Drumgramph, Closdaw, Killyleg, Crossbane, Lislongfield, Drumcrow.
It also includes permanent upgrade works to two local roads and the R188, R183 and R189 to accommodate the delivery of wind turbine components.
An appeal was brought to An Bord Pleanala by William McGuigan over environmental and noise issues, as well as the close proximity of one turbine to his land.
This appeal was formally withdrawn on September 8th, which means Monaghan County Councils original conditional permission now takes effect.
