She is Aontú's first ever senator for the party, and will now sit on the Agricultural Panel.

Figures released to Aontú by the Minister for Justice show that 11,467 people were arrested for drug offences throughout the district which covers Cavan, Monaghan and Louth.

Speaking to Northern Sound news, Cllr O'Reilly says she was delighted the party had the confidence in her to run.
