A group opposed to the overgrounding of the North-South Interconnector says Eamon Ryan must change his mind on how the development will go ahead.
NEPPC thanked the local Fianna Fáil members for calling on the Taoiseach to commit to an independent review of the project during a recent parliamentary party meeting.
They said this resulted in a commitment by Micheal Martin to speak to the Communications Minister, and they urged local politicians to continue to put pressure on the Green Party leader also.
Minister Eamon Ryan said recently in the Dáil that previous reports indicate a large saving is to be had by building pylons, something NEPPC called a “misinformed position”.
The procurement process for the contentious powerline is expected to begin before the end of the year.
