The October Bank Holiday can only mean one thing - and that's the annual Clones Film Festival, according to organiser Siobhan Sheerin. Now in its 21st year, the popular event will open tonight with a total of three short films on offer for all to enjoy.
According to Siobhan, the theme of this year's opening night will focus on short films with strong local connections. As every year, proceedings will continue on Friday, Saturday and will conclude with an awards ceremony on Sunday night.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Siobhan said that this year's line-up has something for "all the family" to enjoy. She added that the event has grown in popularity since its inception 21 years ago and now attracts people from all walks of life from right across the country.
When asked what advise she would give to anyone who hasn't experienced the local festival as of yet, Siobhan said; "Once you come, you'll come every year. I would advise people to go online if you don't have a hard copy of the weekend programme, pick even just one thing to see and I know you'll come back."
