Annalitten Eggs "always passes on any increases it gets to the farmers".
Those were the comments of Annalitten Egg's Michael O'Reilly, following an egg producer protest outside the Castleblayney business yesterday.
IFA's Ulster-North Leinster Chair, Frank Brady, was at the protest, and said farmers need an increase of 2 cent per egg in order to cover rising costs and keep their businesses running.
While Michael O'Reilly says it was a "peaceful protest and the issues were resolved", he added that the best way to deal with this is "through negotiation and not protesting outside our front door".
Speaking on The Wider View, Mr O'Reilly said he "understands where farmers are coming from" but added the company "does pass on any increase they negotiate with supermarkets":
