The Annalee Respite Centre in Cootehill is expected to reopen early next year.
It was forced to close over a year ago after a leak in a fuel transfer line meant remedial works were needed.
After a long wait a temporary centre opened in Cavan earlier this year.
HSE Cavan Monaghan Disability Services said at the time it had registered a new, five bedroom respite facility.
The HSE says works have begun at Annalee.
In a statement it said “all going according to plan the centre will be ready to open by the end of Quarter 1 of 2021”.
