Almost €400,000 has been announced for the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Newbliss.
The others locally to benefit from the arts council funding were the Ramor Theatre, the Town Hall Cavan and the Garage Theatre in Monaghan Town.
€102,000 was announced for the Ramor and the Town hall while €66,000 was announced for the Garage Theatre. Nationally 175 grants were awarded to organisations, art centres and arts studios across the country.
The funding stream that the Tyrone Guthrie Centre received was through the Strategically Funded programme. This funding programme is for organisations who make a significant impact to arts infrastructure in Ireland and have a national or regional reach.
These organisations support a variety of art forms including music, literature, theatre, dance, film and much more. Director of the centre is Anna Walsh says its great to receive investment North and South for the local centre.
