Almost €260,000 was paid in parking charges at Cavan and Monaghan Hospital in 2019.
Figures provided by the RCSI Hospital Group reveals that more than three million euro was collected in car parking charges by the Hospital Group during 2019.
Just over €220,000 (€220,050) was collected in Cavan General Hospital, while close to €40,000 (€39,240) was generated at Monaghan Hospital.
Meanwhile, just under €402,000 (€401,920) was collected at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, and more than €1.5 million (€1,528,920) was generated at the Beaumont Hospital.
The figures were obtained following a parliamentary question by Deputy Ruairí Ó Murchú, who submitted the question following a meeting with the Irish Cancer Society.
He says he's "backing the Irish Cancer Society's campaign to have car parking fees waived for those receiving cancer treatment."
