Just under €254,000 has been allocated to the Northern Sound region under the Community Monuments Fund.
The fund, which was first established in July of last year, supports the conservation, maintenance, protection and promotion of local monuments and historic sites.
It also aims to help owners and custodians of archaeological monuments to safeguard them into the future for the benefit of the public.

This includes just under €121,000 for three projects in Cavan, and just over €132,000 for three projects in Monaghan.
