Almost €11 million has been announced this morning to redevelop the historic Market House in Castleblayney.
The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys announced the funding that will see the listed building provide cultural, retail and office spaces.
The project also includes public realm enhancements to create a pedestrian public gathering space.
Together with works already completed at the Gate Lodge, this project will create a people-centric town square that supports economic opportunities. This announcement is part of a record €164 million in funding for 30 regeneration projects in rural towns and villages
Cllr Aidan Campbell says when these works will be completed this will be a gamechanger for the town. The Fine Gael Councillor says its a great day for Castleblayney.
