Almost €1.3 million has been allocated to Cavan and Monaghan for the refurbishment of social housing units.
Minister Darragh O’Brien announced the additional funding under the 2020 Voids Stimulus Programme today which will see up to 2,500 social housing units across the country renovated and re-let to people struggling with homelessness or on the social housing list.
€969,000 has been allocated to Cavan for the refurbishment of 71 units, while Monaghan has had a total of €324,299 allocated for 37 units.
The Minister has stated that he wants to see works carried out and all units allocated by the end of this year by local authorities.
