Almost 80 motorists caught with no insurance locally

79 motorists were detected to have no insurance so far this year across the Northern Sound region. 46 drivers in Cavan and 33 in Monaghan were found to have no valid insurance disc in the first 6 months of 2024. During the 12 months of 2023 109 motorists in Cavan were detected having no insurance by local Gardaí and 73 in Monaghan.

In 2022 over 200 motorist were taken off the road for not having a valid insurance disc across Cavan and Monaghan. Between 2021and up to last month 580 vehicles were detected having no insurance on Cavan and Monaghan roads.
