New figures released by the Central Statistics Office reveal that almost 3,000 people from the Ukraine have arrived in Cavan and Monaghan.
In the wake of the invasion of Ukraine more than two years ago, the CSO created an Arrivals from Ukraine in Ireland series of releases to provide insights into Ireland's response to the Ukrainian crisis.
The CSO provides a breakdown of the number of people who came to Cavan and Monaghan from Ukraine by electoral area.
As of June 4th this year, 303 Ukrainians are based in the Monaghan local electoral area, and 363 living in the Ballybay-Clones area.
The highest number of asylum seekers in Monaghan is concentrated in the Carrickmacross-Castleblayney LEA, where currently 945 Ukrainian nationals have taken residence.
Meanwhile, 973 Ukrainians live in the Cavan-Belturbet Municipal District and 363 reside in the Bailieborough-Cootehill area.
The number of Ukrainians living in the Northern Sound region totals 2,987.
