Almost 27,000 people have received at least one Pandemic Unemployment Payment across the Northern Sound region since it was introduced just over a year ago.
Since its introduction, 20 million payments have been made to over 850,000 people nationwide, at a cost of €6.3 billion to date.
As of Tuesday this week, 12,631 people in Cavan and Monaghan were in receipt of the PUP.
However, 26,654 people have received at least one payment.
13,924 people have received at least one payment in Cavan, while 6,643 people received the payment this week in the county.
In Monaghan, 12,730 people have received the PUP at least once, with 5,988 people in receipt of the PUP this week.
The Social Protection Minister, Heather Humphreys, says the PUP has protected hundreds of thousands of workers from a sudden shock to their incomes.
