There's been an almost 25 per cent increase in local homelessness since the start of the year.
That's according to the latest Department of Housing report which revealed 99 people were in emergency accommodation across Louth, Cavan and Monaghan in July.
The number has been increasing since the start of the year, when there were 80 people on the local list.
However, it makes up just 1 per cent of the national homeless figure.
More than 10,500 people are registered as homeless in Ireland, according to the latest figures.
It's the highest figure on record, and includes more than 3,100 children who are now living in hotels or B&Bs.
However, this figure does not include rough sleepers, women in refuge centres, those in Direct Provision or Ukrainian refugees- only those living in emergency accommodation.
