Almost 170 local children waiting for school transport places

Almost 300 children in the Shannonside Northern Sound region are still to receive a place on school transport due to a late payment of fees.

According to the Minister for Education, a total of 1,758 children applied late for school transport and have not yet secured a place on a service

100 children in Cavan are affected, 66 in Monaghan, 42 in Roscommon, Longford has 36 and there are 32 in Leitrim
