Almost 12,000 passports have been issued online in Cavan and Monaghan so far this year.
The data was released by Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin, in response to a parliamentary question by TD Danny Healy Rae. According to the report, 6,392 passports in Cavan and 5,324 in Monaghan were issued online in the first 6 months of this year.
A total of 800 paper applications were processed across the 2 counties with an average waiting time of 8 weeks. While 62 one day emergency passports were issued in Cavan and 55 in Monaghan.
