Supermarket giant Aldi says it will open a new store in Cootehill as part of a €320 million Irish expansion, despite issues with the planning application for the store.
Cavan County Council says details requested in relation to the planning application for the proposed store "have not been received by the Planning Authority".
A spokesperson says an "application for the construction of a single storey discount food store was received by the Planning Authority" in March of this year.
Following an assessment of the application, "further information was requested" on the 6th of May.
The 6th of May letter seeking this information said the "application will be considered withdrawn" if this information is not submitted within six months.
In a later letter dated the 8th of October, the Planning Authority granted a further three-month extension in which to submit these details.
Aldi has been approached for comment.
