ALDI hopes to open its Cootehill store by 2023, while there's still no timeline for the construction of their Monaghan town supermarket.
Plans are being finalised for both sites.
The German retail giant announced plans for a supermarket in Cootehill in March, with the planning application currently paused while Cavan County Council seeks further information on the plans.
If it's given the green light, 25 jobs are expected to be created when the 1,300 square metre store opens.
A spokesperson said they are working through the planning process and hope to open the store in 2023.
Meanwhile, there's been no further progress in developing the ALDI store in Monaghan town.
Commenting on progress, a spokeperson added that they are "currently finalising plans" with Monaghan County Council.
20 permanent jobs will be created when it opens, with an estimated 60 jobs supported in the construction phase.
An Bord Pleanala granted permission in 2019, with the expected completion date then said to be 2020.
However, no works have as of yet taken place at the site known locally as McNally's Carpark.
