Alan Johnston was co-opted on to Monaghan County Council for Fine Gael last night. The Monaghan Town native took the seat that David Maxwell has held for nearly 21 years.
David was elected to the 34th Dail recently and had to vacate his seat on Monaghan County Council. Alan is an accountant and runs Johnston & Co Accountants Ltd.
He sits on the Monaghan Local Community Development Committee and was recently elected to be Captain of Rossmore Golf Club. He won last night's convention which was also contested by Fiona McCaffrey Jones.
