The Agriculture Minister says "proportionality" is required for satellite inspections that will soon face some farmers.
The Satellite inspections, which will be employed for this year's Protein Aid Scheme and will be compulsory in the new CAP, have been described as
"grossly intrusive and disquieting" by the ICMSA.
And while Minister McConalogue says "there is a certain level of oversight and inspection required to draw down" EU funding, he added that the "checks
need to be practical".
Minister McConalogue told Shannonside Northern Sound that he will work with farmers to ensure any checks are "proportional" and "as practical as they
can be":
