The Irish Shows Association has advised that no agricultural shows should take place again this year.
The Association says it had hoped "clarification and advice" would be given on whether or not they could take place this year but the changing situation with Covid means this hasn't been forthcoming.
The board has instead decided to advise all member shows not to progress with their plans for 2021, until it is deemed safe to do so.
In a statement to Shannonside Northern Sound, the ISA said even under Level 1 of the Covid plan the most allowed to attend a show would be 500 and this would not be viable for most events.
