Crime prevention advice was issued to the public at a recent Joint Policing Committee in Co Cavan. Sergeant Mick Duffy, who is the Crime Prevention Officer for Cavan and Monaghan highlighted the importance of local communities "working together" as part of a concerted effort in the fight against crime.
He said it is imperative that properties are fitted with a monitored security alarm to secure them. The local Sergeant pointed out that setting the security system to send alert notifications is also beneficial.
He added the importance of engaging with the monitoring company if the alarm goes off - particularly in situations where alerts can't be retrieved because of 4G issues.
