Two dogs were found dumped outside a local pound over the weekend.
They were left outside Monaghan County Council's dog pound tied to the fencing by baling twine. The male Chihuahua and a female terrier cross were tied to the fence which tightened when they tried to escape.
In a post on the Carrick Dog Shelter Facebook page, it was revealed that a volunteer who was transporting a dog to her rescue placement in Moira, near Carrickmacross, had returned after forgetting to pack her medication, and managed to get photos of the man suspected of dumping them and his car and registration.
According to the Carrick Dog Shelter, the information has been passed on to the local Gardai to be investigated.
