A Co Cavan man will cycle 30km this Saturday for his 61st wedding anniversary to raise funds for a new minibus for the Holy Family School in Cootehill.
Gregory O’Reilly says he wanted to do something a bit different to mark him and his wife Mary’s milestone. The fundraiser has raised over €2,300 so far ahead of his mammoth challenge this weekend.
He will cycle on his 1960s' Raleigh Bike on the 30km old railway line from Navan to Kingscourt. The 82 year old says all funds raised from the cycle will go to the Parents Association of The Holy Family School in Cootehill, where his grandson Shaun attends.
Gregory says the minibus is vital to help the children get out in the community and have the much needed experiences that they truly deserve. Speaking to Northern Sound, the Virginia man outlines the locations that he will be passing through along the route on Saturday morning.
