The event will take place at 8pm tonight.

An event for Palestine will take place tonight at the Iontas Theatre in Castleblayney. A night of music, comedy and film will take place at 8pm in aid of the ongoing war in Palestine. As part of tonight's line up, a screening of 'The Wilde Sisters' which was directed and produced by Monaghan's very own Taine King will take place. The short-film focuses on the deaths of Emily and Mary Wilde, the half-sisters of Irish poet, novelist and dramatist, Oscar Wilde. The sisters lost their lives in a tragic fire at Drumaconnor House just off the Monaghan/Clones road back in 1871.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Taine said it was important for her to support this important cause in any way she could. The Co Monaghan director believes that tonight's event is also a brilliant opportunity to screen the short film in front of a local audience. Also featuring in tonight's line-up will be comedian and activist Tadhg Kickey, Kellie Redmond, St Mary's Church Folk Choir and Jim McHugh.
