A Monaghan native is hosting singalong sessions on YouTube to aid dementia
patients during lockdown.

Emyvale musician Edel McMahon says the "Sundown Sessions" started as a
project in April to give people a way to access music services during the
lockdown.

"Sundowning" is a symptom of dementia, wherein the sufferer's confusion and
agitation may get worse in the late afternoon and evening.

In August, a colleague suggested that Edel should do live concerts in the
evening and Edel said she was struck by the lack of musical activities for
people with dementia in the evening time.

The 'Sundown Sessions' take place on Monday and Thursday at 7pm, and Edel
spoke to The Joe Finnegan Show about how people can tune in:
