Speculation continues in north Monaghan this evening as to who the winner of €1m in the Lotto over the weekend might be. The Quick Pick ticket was bought at the Centra Store on Main Street in Emyvale last Thursday.
Glyn Williams who owns the Centra store with his wife Gráinne says locals have been talking about nothing else only the big Lotto win since the numbers emerged in Saturday evening's draw.
Speaking to Northern sound, he said it could be anyone from Donegal to Cork as visitors from all over Ireland stop off regularly at the popular Emyvale store. Glyn added the winner has 90 days to claim their prize but the store and its staff will be popping the champagne corks later this week in celebration of the big win.
"As of yesterday afternoon, National Lottery contacted to me and told me that nobody has come forward," continued Glyn. "But because we are on the main N2 road it could be anyone from Donegal to Cork or it could be a local person and hopefully it is; but it could be absolutely anyone at this moment in time.
"I believe the customer will have 90 days to make contact with National Lottery Headquarters on Abbey Street in Dublin and when that happens, the National Lottery will take it from there."
