A crowd of men who regularly meet in sheds gathered for a national conference in County Cavan today.
1 million euro in government funding for the social hubs was announced by the Department of Rural and Community Development today at the first ever 'Shedfest'.
Under the initiative, grants of up to €3,000 will be provided to 435 Men’s Sheds across the country.

Among the attendees was 93-year-old Tommy Sheridan from the Virginia Men's Shed in Cavan. He’s made over 300 birdhouses since he joined his local group, and says he's made friends for life:
