This year, 9 food producers from Co Cavan have reached the final of the Blas na hÉireann awards.
Now in its 17th year, the Irish Food Awards is the biggest competition for quality Irish produce on the island of Ireland. The Blas awards are the biggest blind tasting of produce in the country, and the criteria on which the product is judged as well as the judging system itself is now recognised as an international industry standard.
Nine food producers from Cavan have reached the final of the awards with 5 of these being part of the Created in Cavan food and drinks network. They are Moran's Mega Jam, Áine Hand Made Chocolate, Cullys Craft Bakery, Ice Cream treats, Drummully Boxty, Carleton Cakes, Manor Farm, Liffey Meats and Terra. The award winners will be announced on the 4th of October from the Blas Village in Dingle.
