87 year old killed in Cavan Christmas Day collision to be laid to rest today

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

The funeral of 87-year-old Seán Brady who died in a tragic Christmas Day car collision in Cavan is to be held later this morning.

Mr Brady’s removal will take place this morning to the Cathedral of St Patrick and Felim, in Cavan, arriving for 11am funeral mass.

Following Mass, the cortege will travel to St. Brigid's Cemetery, Killygarry, for committal prayers and burial in the family plot.

The local man was killed in a collision on the N55 at Clarebane on the Ballinagh Rd at approximately 12.40 am on Christmas morning involving two cars.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

They are asking any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) travelling on the N55 between 12.15am and 12.45am on Christmas Day to make this footage available to them.
