82 people were reported as homeless across the Northern Sound region last November.
The figures were revealed in the Department of Housing’s latest homeless report, taken during the week from the 22nd to the 28th of November.
The figure of 82 across Louth/Monaghan/Cavan is a slight uptick on the figures a month previous, when 81 people were reported as homeless in the last week of October.
The largest concentration of homeless people is in Dublin, where there are 4,568 homeless, which amounts to 70% of the figure nationwide.
Meanwhile, 9,099 people were in emergency accommodation last November, including 2,548 children.
The Peter McVerry Trust said it is disappointed this number has climbed above 9,000 and appealed to vacant or derelict property owners to contact the charity about re-using those properties for social housing.
