80% of all Monaghan County Council staff have applied for the possibility to work remotely two days a week.
That's according to the executive team at Monaghan County Council, following the question that was raised by Councillor Paudge Connolly at December's council meeting.
240 staff have applied for the right to work up to two days a week from home.
The council have said that a very small number have taken up remote working as the majority of staff continue to come to the office on a daily basis.
The management team of the council see the high applications that applied as having the option there if any staff members needed or wanted to work remotely at some stage.
