A total of 80 of the more than 6,000 new Irish citizens to attend six separate Citizenship Ceremonies this week, are based in the Northern Sound region.
56 are from Cavan while 24 from Monaghan attend events at the Convention Centre in Dublin.
Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has welcomed the granting of Irish citizenship the applicants from 131 countries around the world. They are living in all 32 counties on the island of Ireland.
She attended the ceremonies on Monday and Minister of State James Browne attended on Tuesday. Citizenship ceremonies were first introduced in 2011 in order to mark the occasion of the granting of citizenship in a dignified and solemn manner. To date approximately 173,000 people have received Irish citizenship since 2011.
