Applications for a total of eight projects have been submitted by Monaghan County Council and successfully approved under the Community Recognition Fund 2023.
The fund aims to support the development of community infrastructure and facilities in recognition of the contribution being made by communities in welcoming and hosting arrivals from Ukraine and other countries.
Under the Community Recognition Fund 2023, Monaghan County Council submitted an application for eight projects.
This included €150,000 for a playpark extension at Rossmore Park, €121,857 for Belgium Park Refurbishment and €7,190 for the provision of an outdoor handball area at Monaghan Harps.
€143,010 for the provision of a bandstand adjacent to the Civic Offences in Carrickmacross, elsewhere €136,037 was allocated for the provision pf a sensory garden/play area and outdoor educational space at Cloughvalley, also in Carrickmacross.
Lastly, an application was submitted and accepted for a funding allocation of €120,000 for the refurbishment and enhancement of Ballybay town park, €120,000 for the upgrade and redevelopment of a bus stop at 98 Avenue and also €39,047 for the provision of outdoor exercise equipment for children at the Peace Link Campus.
Monaghan County Council has been notified that all applications have been successful, and work will soon commence on these projects.
